I recently started receiving emails from The Data Company wanting to sell me information about businesses, phone numbers, and email lists, which I have no idea how they acquired in the first place. I never heard about them before, yet, they had my email address!
I emailed them to inquire about their advertising but received no response. I was surprised to discover how they obtained my email address, so I did some searching. To my shock, I found that they operate interconnected websites that lack a physical address; they only provide a contact form and a phone number. I also found another complaint linking the Data Company to Property Noise, which confirmed my suspicions that they might be a scam business.
As far as I know, sending marketing emails to someone without their consent is illegal. Businesses must comply with the Act of 2007, which requires them to avoid sending spam. Failure to comply with this law could result in a fine of up to $500,000.
However, The Data Company is clearly violating the law, and one must question how you can do business with a company engaging in spam emails!
I have unsubscribed from their questionable emails but still receive them! Very dishonest people!
